The propane production split between natural gas processing plants and refineries was about 60/40 not too many years ago. Now it’s more like 80/20.

In 1989, the rule of thumb was 60 million barrels of propane inventory by the end of October would yield an adequate inventory level to withstand normal winter demand. What's changed?
